How It All Started
The Hair Stylist YYC was born from a simple but deeply held belief: that every person deserves to feel genuinely looked after, not just another appointment on a busy book. From the very beginning, our focus has been on building a space in Calgary where exceptional hair and a truly enjoyable experience go hand in hand.
Our team brings expertise across the full range of hair services, from precision cuts and beautiful colour to styling and nourishing treatments, all tailored to the individual sitting in the chair. We are not here to give you someone else's idea of great hair. We are here to bring out the best version of yours.
Located in Altadore, Calgary, The Hair Stylist YYC is proud to be a destination salon for clients across the SW and beyond. Whether you are coming in for your first visit or you have been with us for years, you will always leave feeling taken care of, and absolutely fabulous.

We do not believe in one-size-fits-all hair. Every person who sits in our chair has a different hair type, lifestyle, budget and idea of what beautiful means to them. We start every appointment by listening, and we build everything around what we hear.

Meet Vannata
A stylist with a true passion for all things hair. From colour transformations to precision cutting, Vannata loves the creativity and confidence great hair can bring. She specializes in lived-in balayage and creating hair that not only looks beautiful the day you leave the salon, but continues to grow out seamlessly for months after. With a strong focus on hair health, her goal is always beautiful, wearable hair that feels just as good as it looks.
Men’s hair and precision cutting are also a huge passion of hers, combining technical skill with personalized styling to create looks tailored to every client’s lifestyle.
Outside the salon, Vannata loves great food, travelling, spending time with family, and making memories with the people she loves most. As a mom, she values connection, meaningful conversations, and building long-term relationships with her clients — creating a space where you can feel relaxed, cared for, and truly yourself.

Meet MK
known for her beautiful no-bleach balayages on dark hair. She specializes in creating rich, dimensional colour that looks natural, effortless, and healthy while maintaining the integrity of the hair. Whether you want soft lived-in colour or subtle brightness, MK truly knows her craft and takes a thoughtful approach to every appointment.
Outside the salon, MK loves spending time with her family and creating a calm, welcoming experience for every guest. If you’re looking for a relaxing appointment with someone who genuinely cares and makes you feel comfortable from start to finish, MK is your stylist.

Meet Brea
A foil master known for creating high-impact blondes that are bright, dimensional, and beautifully customized to every client. With a passion for lived-in luxury blonding and precision foil work, Brea loves helping her clients feel confident, elevated, and effortlessly beautiful.
When she’s not behind the chair, you’ll find her spending time with her dogs, e-biking, exploring new restaurants, and planning her next travel adventure. Her love for beauty, lifestyle, and connection shines through in every appointment, creating an experience that feels both relaxed and refined.
